A Self Cleaning Oven: Being Accountable for Your Connections

Why is it you can call or text someone and they never reply back, but when you are with them that phone is always in their hand? We’re always connected but never connecting.
Usually I try to see the best in people, but has recently I’ve seen the other side once or twice and have realized that I was overly optimistic with a couple of my visions. The sad truth is that there are some people who will be there for you as long as you have something they need… when you no longer serve a purpose, they are gone.
It used to upset me, but actually it’s as awesome as a self-cleaning oven. You don’t need to lift a finger as it takes care of itself. Just like baked on pizza and lasagna residue some people just disappear. In the end people will only treat you the way you allow them to. If you want to be treated differently, accept no less than what you deserve. And that’s up to you, nobody else. Accountability is a beautiful thing.
So instead, let’s actually connect. Don’t “like” me. Text me. Seriously…
